MY KARACHI INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, KARACHI, PAKISTAN
6TH TO 8TH JUNE 2008

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Consul General for Sri Lanka in Karachi will organize Sri Lanka’s participation at the 5th My Karachi International Exhibition to be organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry at Karachi Expo Centre from 6th to 8th June 2008.

The 5th My Karachi extravaganza is profiled to provide maximum interaction between international exhibitors and to provide and create the ground work for further enhancement of a unique, bilateral and mutually beneficial relationship between the friendly countries. For Sri Lanka this event is timely for exploring export opportunities in the context of Pakistan-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (PSFTA) and the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA).

ELEGIBILITY

Applications are invited from manufacturers and exporters of –

* Tea * Wooden products including Furniture
* Betel Leaves * Toys, gifts/souvenirs/handicrafts
* Coconut and coconut based/allied products * Readymade garments
* Spices and essential oil * Gems & Jewellery
* Fruits, Vegetables and other Agriculture products * Chemical/Mineral based products
* Biscuits, chocolates & other confectioneries * Plastics articles
* Processed Food and Beverage * Footwear and leather products
* Herbal, cosmetics and healthcare products * Ceramics and porcelain products
* Rubber and Rubber based products * Automobile components
* Electrical products * Computer software & IT related parts &
* Engineering products accessories
Other potential products/ services will also be considered.

SELECTION PROCEDURE AND ASSISTANCE:

The EDB will meet 100% of the cost of stall rental with basic fixtures/fittings of selected small and medium scale exporters (SMEs) and 50% of the cost of stall rental with basic fixtures/fittings of selected large scale exporters. Other costs related to participation such as travel, accommodation, freight and clearance of exhibits, additional furniture, etc. will have to be borne by the participants. Cost of participation to a selected SME and to a non-SME would approximate to SL Rs. 160,000/- (4.5 sq.mt. stall) and SL Rs. 220,000/- (9.0 sq.mt. stall) respectively.
