10th SAARC Trade Fair, Kathmandu, Nepal

“Regional Prosperity Through Trade”

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board proposes to organize a Sri Lanka pavilion at the 10th SAARC Trade Fair to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 29th October to 02nd November 2010. This fair is being organized by the Trade & Export Promotion Centre at the Bhirkuti Mandap, Kathmandu and expected 8,000 visitors from overseas including the SAARC Region, 5000 local business men and 150,000 local public.                              

With more than 1.35 Bn. people, the SAARC region itself offers a big market and ample opportunities for the interested companies to explore in terms of trade in goods and services as well as investments. The fair aims to bring together the people, the products, and the services on a common platform of opportunities to all, where new possibilities can be shaped for economic cooperation and solidarity of the region.

The fair will also focus on tourism mart, food festival, cultural events, buyer/seller meetings and seminars.

Applications are invited from manufacturers cum exporters of:

Other potential products and services may also be considered.

EDB assistance:

It is proposed to select 6 - 8 companies for the Trade Fair. Short listed applicants will be interviewed by a selection panel. The EDB will provide stall space of 9 sq.mtr. area to each selected company. All other costs including airfare, accommodation, freight of exhibits, customs clearance and internal travel will have to be borne by the participants.
