Coir is a natural fibre produced from coconut husk. It is totally organic, bio-degradable, hard and strong, and has natural resistance to rot, mold and moisture. Coir yarn is spun into ropes. Coir ropes have been used in the State for many centuries.

About us

M C ENTERPRISES IS ONE OF THE LEADING Manufacturers and Exporters, a government recognized trading house based at MADAMPE, AMBALANGODA in the SOUTHERN PART of SRI LANKA, that has for the last TWENTY five years been exporting coir yarns and coconut based products from the state to discerning buyers worldwide.
Coir (coconut fiber) usage has become very common among professionals in various industries due to its versatility. In the horticultural industry, agricultural industry, or erosion control industry, coir has established a remarkable reputation for its superiority to other available natural materials. Compared to the horticultural and agricultural industries, coir is relatively new to the erosion control industry and it may take some time for this industry to learn and understand about coir. Recognition of coir in the erosion control industry has come from the fact that it is an abundant, renewable natural resource with an extremely low decomposition rate and a high strength compared to other natural fibers.

COIR BLANKET

In traditional erosion control blanket applications, coir blankets are well known for superior performance compared to other organic blankets. In most of these applications, long-term tensile strength in the blankets is not a critical design criterion.

COIR ROPE

Coir Yarn is generally of 2 ply, spun from coir fibre by hand as well as with the help of traditional ratts, fully automatic spinning machines etc. The Coir yarn is of different qualities/grades based on the quality of fibre used, the nature of twist, presence of impurities etc. Available in different forms like hydraulically pressed bales, spools bobbins, dholls, balls etc. cut length for various industrial and agricultural purposes.

COIR NET

Geotextiles, used for soil stabilization, landscaping and erosion control, are environmentally-friendly.
C
oir Geotextiles protect land surface and promote quick vegetation. Geotextiles are a wonderful treasure of natural echo friendly, erosion control blankets in woven and non-woven preparations. Totally biodegradable, geotextiles help soil stabilisation and renew vegetation in varying slopes.

NETTING ROLE

Woven coir matting for slope stabilisation and in a number of other Civil Engineering practices. The mesh effect is obtained by suitably positioning the warp and the weft.

Geo-Textile Netting made of Natural Coco Fibre in White or Brown Coir. (Machine or Hand woven)
To control Soil -Erosion, at work - sites, road construction areas, river banks etc... as a protective measure/ Mesh. Can be used as backing for hydroseed spraying.

Mesh hole size 20mm x 20mm or 30x30 or as per buyer's requirement for any pattern and size. Supplied in rolls any length and width (up to 2 meters  of maximum width).

COIR LOG

High density Coir net stuffed with mattress fibre
For soil stabilization, sediment retention and vegetation establishment
This is the handiest erosion control product doing a immense amount of work holding soil in place. More attractive than silt fence. They trap ash and soilfines better than silt fences. Installation of fibre rolls involves much smaller depression and securing it with wood stakes requires much less maintenance since they are bio degradable.
