Market Research and Development Programmes for the Target Market |
Prospects for the following products identified as having potential
to increase share in the Singapore market could be obtained through
suitable market research.
Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits e.g. ground nuts, soya bean, sunflower
seeds, sesame seeds, essential oils, non-metallic mineral products
other than ceramic/porcelain products, chemical and plastic products,
clay materials e.g. heat insulating bricks and roofing tiles, paper
and paper products, cut flowers and foliage.
Since Singapore is a significant re-export market it is also a gateway
to the Southeast Asian region. Promotional activities such as inward
buying missions could be organized, which comprise not only importers
but also distributors. To further penetrate this market and the region
programmes such as single country fairs and similar programmes, could
also be undertaken.
More multi-sectional trade missions could also be encouraged, in collaboration
with local Chamber, Business Councils, the Singapore Trade Development
Board and Trade Chambers in Singapore.
Participation in suitable specific product and multi-product trade
fairs in Singapore could also be organized, in order to obtain orders
for present and potential products and to gain exposure for new products.
