University of Peradeniya (UoP) is the largest public higher education institute in Sri Lanka,heir of the oldest university in the Country, University of Ceylon (founded 1942). UoP has 9 Faculties:Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Dental Sciences, Engineering, Management, Medicine, Science, Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences. 3 postgraduate institutes are in fields of Agriculture(PGIA), Science(PGIS),Humanities and Social Sciences(PGIHS).
