Kegalle Plantations PLC (KPL) was one of such Company and it was allocated 21 Estates which in total have a land base around 10,000 ha in Kegalle, Kurunegala and Badulla Districts. Of this land base, around 5,200 ha are Rubber, 1,400 ha under Tea and another 500 ha Coconut. The Company produces around 4.0 million kilos of Rubber and 2.0 million kilos of Tea inclusive of bought crop. It has employee strength of 5,274.
