Demand for tea on the increase

There was excellent demand from Iran, Russia and Turkey, whilst Dubai, Iraq, Syria, Jordon Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern markets lent useful support at the last tea auction in Colombo on January 12 and 13.
According to John Keells tea market report last week’s Low Grown average saw a welcome improvement of almost Rs.26. With this week’s prices showing a further gain, it is expected that the Low Grown average would reach at least Rs. 275. More>>
