Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and other sectors at large benefits from concerted, coordinated and well-designed promotional campaigns to propel Sri Lankan products to regionaland international markets.
Identified as an essential component of the National Export Strategy, trade promotion includes;
SLEDB work together with multiple public, private, diplomatic and global partners to promote Sri Lankan trade through conventional and digital channels.
Conventional methods of trade showcasing include the organisation and participation at trade events and exhibitions globally and organizing periodical globally synchronized event in all trade missions overseas to promote Brand Sri Lanka, its exports and investment opportunities, targeting specific Industry sectors.
SLEDB also promotes Sri Lankan industries and services online through digital marketing and advertising.
Trade events and exhibitions are one of the best methods to portray Sri Lankan products and services to the global market and build a link between local exporters and global buyers.
Sri Lanka Export Development Board organizes the participation of Sri Lankan exporters at major International Trade Fairs in potential overseas markets to facilitate B2B promotions. Among these events, there are industry-specific trade fairs, multi-product fairs, regional fairs & solo Exhibitions.
In addition, SLEDB collaborates with the local industry-based institutions to organise local trade events, which helps to promote Sri Lankan products to global markets.
Moreover, SLEDB also facilitates the participation of SMEs at global trade events and exhibitions to promote and facilitate mid-range exporters in a global arena.
The EDB is looking forward to organize a Sri Lanka Pavilion at Productronica 2025 held at Germany for the betterment of the Sri Lankan Electronics and Electrical Sector.

The EDB will be organizing Sri Lanka’s participation at GULFOOD 2026 Exhibition scheduled to be held from 26th - 30th January 2026 at the Dubai Expo City, Dubai, UAE. GULFOOD is one of the largest Food & Beverage Exhibitions in the world which connects around 5,000 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors from over 125 countries.
