FORECONNS CANNERIES
Foreconns Canneries, established in 1989 is the first fish canning factory in Sri Lanka approved by the European Union. It is located at Beruwala with an approximation of 65 workers employed currently. In 2010, Foreconns opened up its new plant in Nagoda Industrial Zone, Kalutara with a current workforce of 60. The nature of business at Foreconns Canneries includes the processing of Canned, Bottled and Vacuum packed fish, dried fish, Cashews, vegetables, chutneys and pickles. Foreconns produces a variety of ethnic food items which are distributed not only in the local market but also in foreign countries.
