A lifestyle store offering everything from living room furniture to lighting, Gandhara borrows its name from an ancient civilisation hidden in the Indus Valley thousands of years ago. Catering to the distinct style of the Sri Lankan home, Dian Gomes, proprietor of Gandhara handpicks a large part of the collection available at the store which houses a variety of homeware from traditional Sri Lankan art, sculpture and handicrafts to meticulously handpicked artefacts from Africa, Tibet, Burma and Peru among others. Launched in 2004, Gandhara pays tribute to the Sri Lankan art lover. Alongside furniture Gandhara has a stunning collection of lamps, vases, glassware, aromatic candles and other accessories. At heart all furniture is created to serve a purpose, however Dian’s insistence on choosing only pieces made from the best materials with exquisite craftsmanship ensures that the resulting collection is as useful as it is beautiful.
