  • How to wear a Non - Medical mask safely?

A non-medical mask or a fabric mask is recommended for normal people who are not knowingly infected with COVID -19. Local and global health organisations recommend that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when social distancing measures are difficult to maintain like in congested public commutes, roads and buildings.

Choose a comfortable mask. It should not restrict the ability to breathe. In addition, fabric masks should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance

Things to do before wearing a non-medical fabric mask

    • Wash and clean hands before touching the mask.
    • Always inspect and make sure that the mask is not dirty. It has to be washed and dried beforehand.
    • After wearing the mask, adjust the mask without leaving any gaps on the side. The mask has to cover the nose, mouth, and chin areas. Do not wear the mask under the nose.
    • Avoid touching the mask frequently after wearing it.

Things to do when removing a non-medical fabric mask

    • When removing a non-medical fabric mask use the straps behind the ears and carefully take the mask away from your face.
    • If the mask is going to be reused, it is best to store it inside a clean, resealable plastic bag. But do this only if it is not dirty or wet.
    • Always use the straps when handling the mask.
    • Keeping the mask germ free is very important. Therefore, use soap or detergent when washing the mask. It is better to use hot water.
    • Clean hands after removing and touching the mask.

Benefits of Wearing a Non-Medical Fabric Mask

Fabric face masks or cloth face covering may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others and are likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public.
