BIOFACH, being the world’s largest and most influential international trade fair dedicated to the organic sector, provides a vital global platform for countries to promote their certified organic products and strengthen their presence in international markets. Recognizing this importance, Sri Lanka will participate in BIOFACH 2026, to be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from 10th to 13th February 2026, with a strong national presence organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the National Organic Control Unit (NOCU).
The EDB will organize a Sri Lanka Country Pavilion, featuring a large and prominently located stall, with the participation of eight leading Sri Lankan organic exporters: Mico Ceylon Organics (Pvt) Ltd, WICHY Plantation (Pvt) Ltd, Elhena Agro (Pvt) Ltd, Peoples Organization for Development Import & Export (PODIE), Ceylon Eco Spices (Pvt) Ltd, Ceylon Exports & Trading (Pvt) Ltd, Bespice (Pvt) Ltd, and Peal Isle Foods Exports (Pvt) Ltd. These companies will be provided with a valuable opportunity to display their products and engage directly with international buyers at this prestigious global trade event.
BIOFACH brings together exhibitors and trade visitors from all parts of the world to explore the latest developments, innovations, and emerging trends in organic food and related sectors. In addition to being a marketplace, the exhibition offers extensive opportunities for networking, business matchmaking, and knowledge exchange through its supporting programmes, including the BIOFACH congress, forums, trend sessions, and innovation stages.

Sri Lanka will showcase a diverse range of certified organic products, including coconut kernel-based products, organic food and beverages, spices, tea, fruits and vegetables, and other value-added ingredients. Special emphasis will be placed on Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certified “Pure Organic Ceylon Cinnamon” along with other premium Sri Lankan spices, reflecting the country’s rich agricultural heritage and its reputation as a trusted supplier of authentic and high-quality organic produce.
A dedicated promotional corner will highlight organic products from small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs). And this Virtual SME Corner will feature 10 SME companies, enabling wider representation of Sri Lanka’s organic sector and providing them with international visibility. In parallel, an awareness campaign on Sri Lanka Organic will be conducted to promote the Sri Lanka Organic Standard (SLS 1324) and the National Regulatory Framework governing organic production and certification.

Adding further value to the Sri Lanka Pavilion, live food demonstrations will be conducted for three consecutive days commencing from 10th February, showcasing the versatility and quality of Sri Lankan organic ingredients. In addition, Pure Ceylon Tea tasting sessions will be offered throughout the exhibition, allowing visitors to experience the distinctive flavour and premium quality of Sri Lanka’s world-renowned tea.
During the event, the EDB and NOCU will also engage in discussions with international bodies such as the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the United Kingdom Trade Partnership (UKTP) with a view to strengthening cooperation, uplifting Sri Lanka’s organic standards, and further improving the country’s organic regulatory framework in line with international best practices.
Participation in BIOFACH 2026 will provide Sri Lankan companies with enhanced international exposure, opportunities to establish business linkages with global buyers, and insights into evolving consumer preferences in the global organic market. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards expanding Sri Lanka’s organic exports while promoting sustainable agricultural practices and value-added production.
Through its participation at BIOFACH 2026, Sri Lanka aims to reinforce its image as a reliable source of credible, certified organic products and to position itself as a competitive and trusted partner in the global organic trade, supported by strong national standards and a robust regulatory system.
