The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) successfully concluded the 27th Presidential Export Awards (PEA) Ceremony on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the patronage of Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The 27th Presidential Export Awards (PEA) Ceremony, organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), will be held today (December 11) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the patronage of His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The Export Development Board (EDB) has launched a rapid relief and recovery program following the severe impact of adverse weather conditions on Sri Lanka's export sector. A discussion meeting was held recently at the EDB premises, with the participation of Secretary to the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Mrs. Tilaka Jayasundara, EDB Chairman and CEO Mr. Mangala Wijesinghe, Mr. Erandika Dissanayake, Actg. Director General, Mrs.Kumudinie Mudalige, Actg. Additional Director General, Dr.Sanjeewa Rathnasekara, Director Trade Facilitation & Trade Information along with senior officials and exporters.
The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin, Germany, successfully organized Sri Lanka’s participation at Productronica 2025 which was held from 18th – 21st November 2025 at the Messe München Trade Fair Center in the Messestadt Riem, Germany. The EDB has earlier organized a Sri Lanka Pavilion at Productronica in 2019 for the first time.
Sri Lanka’s export sector has continued its strong upward trajectory, recording a significant 6.0 % growth during the period from January to October 2025. According to data released by Sri Lanka Customs, along with estimated figures for Gems & Jewellery and Petroleum Products, total exports reached US$ 14,433.82 Mn, surpassing the performance of the corresponding period in 2024. This also marks the first time that exports have exceeded the fourteen-billion-dollar mark within the first ten months of a year.
