The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Union (EU), successfully concluded the Pitching Event for the second batch of SMEs under the ExpoScaleUp program. Supported under the European Union's regional initiative 'Accelerating Climate Smart and Inclusive Infrastructure in South Asia (ACSIIS)’ as part of the EU Global Gateway Strategy, this milestone event is a key component of the Sri Lanka Export Excellence Initiative (SLEEI) 2025.
The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid Town, has launched the “Go Global” Online Awareness Programme, a comprehensive initiative aimed at equipping women-led entrepreneurs and SMEs with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to compete and succeed in international markets. The programme commenced on 30th October 2025 and will run over the next four months, with sessions conducted online from 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. to accommodate the schedules of women entrepreneurs.

Sri Lanka’s export sector has continued its strong upward trajectory, recording a significant 6.0 % growth during the period from January to October 2025. According to data released by Sri Lanka Customs, along with estimated figures for Gems & Jewellery and Petroleum Products, total exports reached US$ 14,433.82 Mn, surpassing the performance of the corresponding period in 2024. This also marks the first time that exports have exceeded the fourteen-billion-dollar mark within the first ten months of a year.
