The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) successfully conducted a workshop on the application and impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and export trade in Jaffna.
Organized in collaboration with the EDB Northern Province office, the workshop attracted approximately 80 participants, including development officers and exporters from across the district.
The session was led by Mr. Uditha Bandara, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Chip Asia, who educated SME entrepreneurs on the practical capabilities of accelerating and transforming export businesses through AI implementation.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among exporters on leveraging AI tools to enhance their business operations and to understand the strategic importance of AI solutions in the export sector. Participants learned how AI technologies can help organizations reduce operational costs by automating time-consuming processes, thereby enabling them to focus on strategic business objectives.
The interactive session provided participants with the opportunity to experiment with various AI technologies, offering them practical experience to enhance their professional development skills.
This initiative is part of the Export Development Board's ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of exporters across all provinces, with particular focus on empowering businesses in the Northern Province to leverage modern technologies for export growth.
