The Sri Lanka Export Development Board in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Thailand organized a Technical Exposure and Capacity Building Programme for 12 SME, food & Beverage export potential entrepreneurs coinciding with “THAIFEX – World of Food Asia -2019”, Bangkok, Thailand from 27th May – 1st June 2019.
Stakeholders of Sri Lanka tourism have recommenced promotional campaigns to boost the industry, nearly one-and-a-half months since the Easter Sunday attacks.
The global wellness tourism market is expected to reach USD 1,062.83 billion by the end of 2025. The growing interests of the tourists towards the sectors such as health, travel, and foods are the factors driving the growth of the market over the forecast period. However, the rising number of tourist destinations in developing countries such as India and China have attracted more customers from the international market.
The first workshop on “Productivity Improvement for Rubber Small Holders through Adaptation of Modern Technology” was successfully concluded by EDB in collaboration with Ministry of Plantation Industries, RDD & RRI in Kegalle on 31st May 2019 for 40 selected small holder rubber farmers.

The unprecedented simultaneous bombings caused a shortage of blood, leaving hospitals scrambling to bring down blood from other areas of the country.
