The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Thailand organized a Technical Exposure and Capacity Building Programme for 13 export ready SMEs identified under 2000 New Exporters Development Programme including Women Entrepreneurs, coinciding with the “THAIFEX - World of Food Asia-2018” from May 28 to June 2, 2018 in Thailand.
The 14th Exporters’ Forum Chaired by Hon.Sujeewa Senasinghe’State Minister of International Trade was held on Friday 22nd June, 2018 at the EDB Auditorium.

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) yesterday said the National Export Strategy (NES) it has designed in collaboration with the export sector stakeholders is ready to be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval.
Sri Lanka’s footprint in global boats and shipping sector may be smaller, but Lankan exports in it continue to surge in strong numbers. As a result Sri Lanka is ambitiously positioning for $ 200 million boats and shipping exports by 2022.
Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board (EDB) has drawn up a new entry strategy for the Chinese market to pre-identify products using an international consultancy firm/consultant, as most of Sri Lanka’s SMEs fail to complete export orders to China.

The Export Development Board (EDB) announced that ‘wellness tourism’ would be added to the export basket from this year onwards, setting an initial $ 2 million target for the sector.
Notwithstanding the global trade decline and sanctions, Sri Lanka has set an ambitious export earning target of $17.4 billion by the end of this year, with 29% of the total target being achieved in the first four months.
The 22nd Presidential Export Awards organised by Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) will be held on 18 September under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).
