The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan, is organizing the Sri Lanka Business Forum and Networking Session on 26th September 2025 at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) as the key supporting partner.
This event is held in parallel with Sri Lanka’s official participation at Expo 2025 Osaka, taking place from 13th April to 13th October 2025, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The Sri Lanka Pavilion, located at the Commons A Pavilion within the Empowering Lives zone, highlights the nation’s cultural heritage and showcases Sri Lanka’s potential as a vibrant hub for trade, investment, and tourism.
The Business Forum and Networking Session will take place on Friday, 26th September 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (JST) at the Commons E Conference Hall, Expo 2025 Osaka. The Sri Lankan delegation will comprise business leaders, senior government officials and exporting companies, The Government of Sri Lanka will be represented by Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development. Approximately 120 participants, including distinguished Japanese counterparts, are expected to attend.
Expo 2025 provides a global platform to engage with businesses, investors, and consumers worldwide. Its theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” aligns closely with Sri Lanka’s vision for sustainable growth, value addition, and export diversification. Within this context, the Sri Lanka Business Forum and Networking Session offers a timely and strategic opportunity to showcase the country’s strengths and expand its global footprint.
