Superfoods most commonly used in western recipes include kale, blueberries, flax seeds, pistachios, hazelnuts etc that are not locally found in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka produces more than 800,000 metric tons of fresh fruit and vegetables annually while around 90 per cent of her processed food is being exported to the European Union market.
